The United States Potato Board’s first summer sweepstakes began this last weekend on their Facebook page, Potatoes, Taters & Spuds. One lucky person will win a Weber Grill.

USPB Public Relations Manager Meredith Myers explains with Memorial Day announcing the beginning of summer, it is the perfect time to engage “Linda”, USPB’s demographic target. Myers shares more details about this Facebook contest asking participants to share their best summer memories.

Myers: “We will be posing questions on Facebook and asking people to answer things like: Where is your favorite place to spend a warm summer evening? What memories do you have of your favorite summer food? Things like that. So they can answer those questions and then enter the sweepstakes. Each week, we will draw a winner and then, finally, at the end, we will award a Weber Grill. So that is what is going on on the social media side of Facebook.”
